Frontal Eminence Hold

Updated: Sep 22

The Frontal Eminence Hold is an ultra-quick way to calm brain activity or to process stressors.

Frontal Eminence Hold Skull

My favorite way to use the Frontal Eminence Hold is for those little thoughts that niggle and nag. Maybe someone was rude to you, or there is a regret or an embarrassing moment that is simmering at the back of your mind all day. Or even a bigger worry.

Some people who experience "flashbacks" report that the FEH will instantly stop one.

Simply do this:

  1. Place your thumbs lightly on your temples - you may be able to feel your pulse here.

  2. Place the pads of your fingers on your frontal eminences - lightly, as you might if you were placing them on your eyelids.

  3. Briefly touch on the distressing thought or feeling.

  4. Let go. Let your brain process it as it will.

  5. After you feel it's complete - take at least 10 seconds - release the 'hold'.

Do this anytime you want! As you've noticed, it's a very natural posture and one that people take all the time. For more thoughts on this hold try this link or this one.
